Standard School Information

Standardized Dress at Adolphus

We have a standardized dress code at Adolphus that includes shorts. Any shorts worn by boys or girls must be mid-thigh length or longer. Some parents have expressed that it is hard to find shorts for girls, in particular, that come to at least mid-thigh. Below is an image that has some options that appear to be appropriate for our standardized dress code. This was created in effort to assist parents with buying options. I hope it helps!

Happy Birthday!

Birthday Grams
Parents, for $1.00 you can purchase a personalized Birthday Gram to celebrate your child's birthday. Please drop by the front office to purchase yours.

Birthday Marquee Message

Attendance Information

Please see the important attendance information below.

Absences and Tardy Policy

Please see below regarding our policy for absences and tardies.

Set Your Child up for Success!

Instruction begins at 7:15, so our goal is to have all children in school by 7:05 AM. This allows time for them to unpack and get prepared for their day. This will help set them up for success.

The students need to be through the front doors by 7:15 in order to not be counted tardy. If you arrive at 7:15 or later, your child will need to enter the main doors of the school to go through the front office to get their tardy slip. That is never a fun way to start their day, so please help get them to school ready for learning by 7:05 AM.

All students in their seats will receive a Dojo point as an incentive to arrive at this time.

Car Rider Procedures

Please review these car rider procedures to make sure you are "in the know".

Front Parking Lot Procedure During Morning Arrival

For safety reasons, we kindly request that all school-aged children be dropped off at the car rider line, where our safety patrol will assist. Parents needing to visit the front office may park after dropping off their children. Please note that the parking lot will be closed during morning arrival.

Transportation

All parents will choose one mode of dismissal transportation for their child to follow daily. We strongly encourage all parents to refrain from calling the front office for transportation changes this year unless it is an absolute need. Students do best when they have one consistent routine when going home, so we want to minimize changes as much as possible.

Please know that changing to bus transportation requires a 5 school day notice.

Safety is our top concern.

Dismissal in Rain

Please be aware that we will only implement a “Severe Weather Dismissal” (formerly known as Rainy Day Dismissal) if we are experiencing severe weather such as nearby lightning, tornado warnings, etc.

Walkers and bikers will continue their normal dismissal, even if it is raining.

Best practice is to have your child pack rain gear if rain is forecast. If you forget and want to change your child’s dismissal from walker/biker, please call the front office by 1:45 PM. The school phone number is 832-223-4700. We do not accept transportation changes through the teacher’s email because they are engaged with teaching our students.

Lunch Visitation

To ensure every parent has a chance to visit when they desire, we kindly ask that visits be limited to once per month. This also gives your child the opportunity to develop social skills by interacting with classmates during lunch. Walk-in visitors will be welcome if there is space available in the sign-up.

When signing-up, make sure to select the total quantity in your group (including the student). For example, if mom and dad are visiting, select 3 for the quantity to include the student and both visitors. Include the student's name in the comments.

Due to spacing, a maximum of 12 visitors are permitted for each grade level lunch. Please limit 2 visitors per student.

Please review the reminders below:
1. On the day reserved, come 5 minutes early and bring your driver's license/state issued ID.
2. You will only be allowed to eat with your student.
3. Lunch visitors may ONLY be in the main hallway & café parent room during your student's lunch period. No visitors in the classroom or playground.

No Cell Phone Use in School Zone

The use of cell phones within school zones is prohibited (unless used with a hands-free device) under Section 545.425 of the Texas Transportation Code.

This is against the law, and you may receive a ticket for this offense. Please partner with us to keep our kids safe!
